Edison's Neighborhoods

We're proud to offer this resource, which we will continually strive to develop into the most comprehensive of its kind anywhere.  We hope you'll find this section useful.  We want to try to bring you as much information as we can about the unique character of each of Edison's local neighborhoods.

Open the page for each neighborhood using the navigation bar to the left.

(Click for: Interactive Map of Edison's Neighborhoods)

The map linked above is courtesy neighborhoodscout.com.  After opening the link, place your cursor over neighborhoods on the map to highlight and see which is which.

Information for the Neighborhoods

We can't vouch for how accurate it is, but neighborhoodscout.com provides interesting information about the neighborhood.

Neighborhoodscout.com's links for each neighborhood are included on each of our neighborhood pages here on this site.  We recommend you access them through our pages here, as we provide additional features and information.

Each neighborhood page on our website features

  • Map
  • Real estate
  • Nearby schools and public school report cards
  • Nearby restaurants
  • Nearby shopping
  • Municipal voting districts and polling location finder

Take a Virtual Stroll

You can actually take a virtual stroll through the neighborhood via Google Maps' camera vantage map view.  Here's how:

1) Click on any of the orange map pins or dots to open a pop-up balloon for the address.  In the balloon click on the highlighted address.  Then click on the "Street View" box (to the right).  This opens a camera street view of the location.

2) Place the cursor on any location where you wish to go, up or down the street, and double-click.  Voila! Your viewpoint will change to that new location.

3)  You can also use the map's "pedestrian" icon to travel to a location that's outside of the camera field of view.  In the lower righthand corner of the camera view, in a little box, you will find a street map version.  That box has a pedestrian icon, a little orange person.  Just click on the pedestrian icon and hold/drag it to a new location on the street map (camera views of streets that are available are highlighted in blue).  To use this function, first click on the Zoom's "+" sign to zoom to the desired level where steeet names become visible.  If needed, you can click within the map then hold/drag with the "hand" to reposition the center of the map.  If you wish to see the street view of the map in an expanded size click on the double arrows on the border of the map.  Clicking the double arrows again will collapse the view back tto the small box size.

(Note: One day I might create a Google Earth tour for each neighborhood, we'll see.)

Please Submit Photos of Your Neighborhood!

If you have any pictures of your neighborhood you'd like to contribute please email them to me at edisongrassroots@gmail.com.  (Add the photo as an attachment to the email.)  I'd love to feature them on the page for your neighborhood!

We also invite residents to write a description of their neighborhood and send it to us.  Please tell us about the neighborhood's general character and feel.  We'll feature your entry right at the top of the neighborhood's page.

Be advised that you may experience a slight delay as these pages load, since they feature several interactive maps.
