A real estate site that provides an interesting overview of Edison. The value of homes is shown according to 22 neighborhoods in the township. The "Data" section includes demographic information for the people of Edison. The site includes tabs for public schools, appreciation rates, and crime rate. (We're not sure how accurate or up-to-date their data is, as it's based partly on census date collected every ten years.) The site lets your spotlight individual neighborhoods in Edison for comparison.

A blog about Edison, NJ politics with a special attention given to the township's legal contracts, court cases and budgets. Very nicely done. Operated anonymously by a "small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens."
This is the only blog specifically dedicated to Edison, NJ that we're aware of. Honestly, other than the vitriolic flamewars at NJ.com's Edison forum dominated by a handful of regulars, there doesn't appear to be much truly thoughtful interest or participation in Edison, NJ politics in the blogosphere. (Sorry, someone has to say it.)
But obviously politics at the state level affects us strongly here in Edison. So please take a look at our new "edisongrassroots NJ Blogalopolis" which features many different types of political blogs in New Jersey. It is our goal to provide the most thorough and balanced selection of NJ political blogs available.

EGG created and co-sponsors the ECO-TOURS of Edison, trips where residents find out about the natural treasures hidden virtually in their backyards. From the depths of the Dismal Swamp, to the historic resting grounds of Colonial era settlers, from Thomas Edison’s Laboratory site, to the waters of the Raritan River. Middlesex County College

A public community college offering associate degrees and certificates, located in Edison. Certification tracks are becoming ever more popular as an alternative to Bachelors or Masters degrees. The college offers a wide variety of affordable classess and special events that area residents might simply enjoy for their own sake, independent of any educational degree goal.
Edison Arts Society

A blog supporting the arts in Edison with local information on music, dance, theater, film, literature, and the visual arts.
Metuchen-Edison Historical Society

The mission of the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society is to stimulate and promote an interest in and an appreciation of the history of the geographic area in and around the Borough of Metuchen and the Township of Edison in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey.

Parks and Museums
Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park
Located within Edison State Park, the Center consists of the Art Deco Edison Memorial Tower and a small museum devoted to Thomas Alva Edison's time of immense creativity at Menlo Park. The tower and museum are undergoing rennovations through a $3 million grant.
Plays in the Park
The popular perrenial plays-in-the-park program's website. Plays are performed during the summer at Roosevelt Park and during the winter at the State Theater.

From the township's official website. It's a guide for Edison's parks' ammenities. In our Edison's Neighborhoods section, for each neighborhood that has a park you'll find each park's map location and Google's 'street view' of it.

Edison Chamber of Commerce
The site describes the Chamber of Commerce as "the liaison in forwarding the interests of the entire Edison business community (approximately 4,000 businesses) to various opinion leaders."
Edison Towne Square

Want something taken care of that is the township's responsibility to address? Or you believe it may be up to them to fix? Here's your complaint form. Send it in online and the township promises to e-mail and/or phone you back with their follow-up.
Edison Senior Services
From the township's official website, this page provides information about the Edison Senior Center. In addition, some of the links included are the Mr. Fixit Program, whereby volunteers will do light repair work to homes as long as certain conditions of the program are met; Edison Senior Outreach Service (S.O.S.), which gets seniors linked to a variety of available social services--especially vital for seniors who are isolated some or all of the time.
