Trash & Recycling Pickup

The map, calendars and information featured below are from the township's Recycling and Sanitation Calendar.  Refer to that .pdf document for more detailed information.

Trash Pickup

According to the Sanitation Department, there is no way to map out the regular pickup trash pickup days throughout Edison that wouldn't be confusing to most people.  Some parts of the township are served by private garbage collection vendors.  And even within different parts of each of the ten recycling sections, the regular trash pickup days may vary.

However, the township's trash pickup rule of thumb is that trash is picked up twice per week, either on Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday.

Holidays alter that schedule; those changes are noted in the calendars below.

If you're not sure which are your regular collection days, contact (732) 248-7300 and the Sanitation Department will tell you which days trash is regularly picked up at your residence.

Bulk Items

Collection of bulk items requires scheduling by the Sanitation Department.  Call 732-248-7300 or make a Citizen Service Request online.

(Note: Removal of rugs and carpet requires a scheduled pickup.)
